Deadmax: Yeah, I'm going to have to look into that West Coast statue of liberty. If you could, I'd definitely appreciate some recommendations of areas of interest. From you too Dali. Hey could I get your contact info? Anyways, my school is almost over.. less than 3 weeks till i'm gone. I'm going to take the train there and back. Bring my guitar too.. I haven't had much exposure to playing well.. real unaltered/unfiltered music with people.. and the way they were playing (guitar, drum circles, saxophone) was real welcoming. I really have to move there.

How long are you going to be there?

All along the Haight are lots of little bars and restaurants you can pop into. Beware of a big park on Haight called Buena Vista Park. I don't know if it's how it was before but it was known as a hook-up place for guys (if you know what I mean). We were told not to go in there and we listened.

But then again, we were told not to go into GG Park at night but coming home from the Haight or from Downtown, I had to either circumvent the park by going by Kezar or go through it. When I was drunk or tired enough I would end up going the park and found that the muggers just weren't there. There were people doing their high stuff but I wasn't going to bother them so I assumed they weren't going to bother me.

Since you are going to be downtown, make sure you walk everywhere you can. Go to Fisherman's Wharf, Ghiradelli's, Coit Tower, and definitley hit north beach where "Beat" began. And of course, CityLights Bookstore.

DaliTrauma, maybe you can point out all the mistakes I've told Max due to time taking its toll.

Bottom line, SF is a BEAUTIFUL city and just breathing in the air is good enough.

Remember this: If you are lucky enough to be in San Francisco, you are lucky enough.

Keep me posted on your travels and please be careful. Lot's of Good and some Bad, you have to be able to tell the difference.
